DELIVERABLES

The integration of renewable energy systems in the “Community” of Democritus University of Thrace includes:

  • Self-consumption  PV system of 51.48 kWp
  • Electric bicycle charging station using PV energy.
  • Hybrid biomass/solar thermal  system for heating, cooling and domestic hot water utilising a biomass boiler of 1,15 MWth, solar collectors of total net absorption area of 1,713.84 m2 and a absoprtion chiller of 316 kWc.
  • Autonomous wind station of 1kW for electric bicycles charging.
  • Shallow geothermal energy system with water to water heat pumps of total power of 276 kWth and one Air Handling Unit for heating, cooling and domestic hot water of the Restaurant of the “Community”.
